Dr. Rutz has a state-of-the-art bone density table
in his office for the screening, evaluation and management of patients
at risk of osteopenia or osteoporosis, particularly menopausal women
or patients with other risk factors such as hypothyroidism or steroids
or chemotherapy use. Results most often can be discussed at the
same visit, eliminating the need for an additional visit to the doctor
saving the patient time and money. Dr. Rutz has taken special courses
in the fields of bone densitometry and osteopenia/osteoporosis diagnosis
and management. The only other location in Blairsville a patient
can find his equipment is at Union General Hospital.
