Dr. Joseph A. Rutz, Jr.

Blairsville Ob/Gyn

Dr. Rutz is a board certified Ob/Gyn physician with over 25 years experience, relocating his practice of eleven years from Vidalia, GA.  A graduate of The University of Michigan in 1978, he earned his MD from Wayne State University in 1982.  His internship and residency in Ob/Gyn was completed in 1986 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, MI, where he served as chief resident in 1985 - 1986.  He practiced in Toledo, OH for three years followed by eight years in Lansing, MI, where he was clinical professor at Michigan State University prior to moving to Georgia in 1998.  He is specialized in state-of-the-art surgical and medical care of women, including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and excels at primary care for women's health issues including menopause, osteoporosis, contraception, fertility, prenatal care and general medical care, prevention and treatment.   He is affiliated with Union General Hospital and his office is located at 47 Weaver Road, Suite B, next to the Cancer Care Center.  

Happily married to his wife of 26 years, Mary, they have two sons, Zachary and Luke, both graduating in May, Zak form the University of Georgia and Luke from Vidalia High School.
